Meet Our Team

John Brennan

John T. Brennan, J.D., CFP®

Senior Vice President, Trust & Financial Services

John is a graduate of Boston University and Suffolk University Law School. John joined the Trust & Financial Services Department in 2007 and became a Certified Financial Planner in 2008. He was promoted to Vice President/Senior Trust Officer in January, 2012 and to Senior Vice President, Trust & Financial Services in December, 2021. John is a member of the Essex County Estate Planning Council and former President of the Sawyer Library Foundation, a non-profit entity raising funds to revitalize the Gloucester Lyceum and Sawyer Free Library, the City of Gloucester’s public library. John was also past President of the Board of Trustees of the Gloucester Lyceum and Sawyer Free Library. John also serves on the Council of Rockport Music and is a longtime member of the Massachusetts Audubon Society.

Dean Murray

 

 

Dean Murray, CFP®,
CTFA, CISP

Vice President / Trust & Financial Services

Dean Murray is a 1988 Graduate of the University of Maine at Orono where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in English with a concentration in Technical Writing. Dean joined the Trust & Financial Services Department in 1991 and brings with him more than 30 years of experience in private banking. In 1993, Dean graduated with honors from the Williams College School of Banking and went on to Cannon Financial Institute at Boston University where he graduated with honors, earning a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation. In 2013, Dean earned his Certified Financial Planner TM designation. In addition to his experience in Trust Operations, he is responsible for the administration of many of the department's accounts including Personal Trust, Estate, Investment Management Agency and Individual Retirement accounts. Dean is a member of the Essex County Estate Planning Council, current Chairman of the Gloucester Education Foundation Endowment Committee, and volunteer for the Open Door. Dean is also a former Treasurer of the Gloucester Education Foundation, past President of Gloucester Little League, past Chairman and Treasurer for the American Red Cross of Gloucester, former appointee to the City of Gloucester Open Space and Recreations Committee and coach for several youth sports programs in Gloucester.

Rick Ciolino

Rick Ciolino

Trust Investment Officer

Rick is a 1988 graduate of Framingham State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, with a concentration in Finance. In 1995 Rick received his Master of Business Administration degree from Suffolk University, Sawyer Business School. Rick joined the Trust & Financial Services Department in December, 2022, bringing with him over 34 years' experience in the financial services industry, with 25 years' devoted to specializing in portfolio management for trusts, private clients, and charitable organizations. Rick serves on the Board of Commissioners of Trust Funds for the City of Gloucester, is a member of Seaside Sustainability and Beverly Rotary.

 

Linda Pata

Linda J. Pata, CTFA

Trust Officer

Linda Pata is a 1992 Graduate of Salem State College receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Linda is a 1995 graduate of Williams College School of Banking and a 1998 graduate of the National Graduate Trust School. She earned her Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation in 2001. Linda joined the Cape Ann Savings Trust & Financial Services Department in November of 2011, bringing nearly 20 years of trust experience. Linda is active in the community, serving as a treasurer of two local organizations.

Michael Sanborn

Michael Sanborn, CTFA

Trust Officer

Michael Sanborn is a graduate of North Shore Community College with a concentration in business administration and the New England Banking Institute with a concentration in commercial lending. Mike continued his education in trust banking at Cannon Financial Institute earning a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation. Mike joined Cape Ann Savings Bank in 2001 specializing in trust administration, bringing nearly 15 years of banking experience, primarily in commercial lending with Gloucester Bank & Trust Company in addition to 14 years of manufacturing and retail business experience.

Kathryn E. Williams, CTFA

Trust Operations Officer

Kathryn Williams is a 1983 graduate of the Williams School of Banking and a 1999 graduate of the Cannon Financial Institute at Boston University earning a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation. Kathy joined the Cape Ann Savings Trust & Financial Services Department in 1995. Prior, she worked for 13 years in trust banking with another local institution, and 9 years in the trust department of a Boston law firm. She is currently responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department and its personnel. She currently serves as Secretary of the Gloucester Scholarship Fund and, in her spare time, enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren, vacationing in New Hampshire and along the Annisquam River. She also enjoys playing cribbage.
